The Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Mini (SAM) is Sky-Watcher’s newest time-lapse and astrophotography tracking platform. It’s their attempt at a compact lightweight mobile setup that's both beginner friendly and easily packed into your camera bag.
The SAM is the little sister to Sky-Watcher’s Star Adventurer, which Fstoppers previously reviewed and it shares a lot of the same features and accessories. Like its' big sister, the SAM attaches to any standard tripod, is capable of sidereal, solar, lunar tracking, and traditional time-lapse photography. The unit itself comes in at close to half the weight of the Star Adventurer while still using the same Latitude Base and Polar Alignment Scope.
